FAQs
What is mindfulness meditation?
Mindfulness meditation focuses on being present and aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment.
How can drawing or art help with self regulation?
Art can serve as a therapeutic outlet, promoting relaxation and mindfulness through creative expression. There are several fun ways to 'be here now', and drawing meditation is available to people with any level of experience in art, even if your artistic best is a stick figure, with a wonky circle as the head!
Who can benefit?
Anyone seeking balance and peace can benefit, especially those who find traditional meditation challenging or unappealing. You don't have to meditate like a monk to gain benefits.
What tools do you offer?
Draw In Peace offers mindfulness techniques, several modalities of meditation practices, including breathing exercises and guided meditations... but the drawing meditation sessions are a favorite.
You can join a scheduled event or host your own group event to share the benefits of drawing meditations with friends and family. To make access east and readily available to all, group sessions are available primarily online.
For our local community, in person group sessions are hosted monthly, so be sure to sign up for notifications about upcoming events.

Can I book a private coaching session?
Yes, you can book personalized sessions to explore mindfulness and meditation practices tailored to your needs. In order to ensure we are well matched to work towards your goals, I ask that each applicant completes a questionnaire when booking their initial 20-minute consultation session.

Can everyone meditate? I've tried and it didn't work for me.
It took me several years of searching before I found a meditation practice that worked for me and my over-thinking brain, but it has now been a regular part of my life for over a decade. What I've learned is that there are many ways to approach meditation, and there are many benefits to having different techniques in your tool chest.
One of the keys of mindfulness meditation it to approach your experience with curiosity, rather than judgment. The experience can differ from one day to the next and finding modalities you enjoy may require that you alter, or soften, your expectations.
I hope you'll join us during live discussions or in one of the group drawing sessions soon! It's a fun way to start where you are, whether you've been meditating for years, or this is your first time dipping a toe in the meditation pool, we hope you'll find a moment of calm in our community.
